Look at them down there in Cork, being all environmentally-friendly.

University College Cork (UCC) is Ireland’s most ‘sustainable university’ and comes as high as fourth place in the overall global category.

The Irish Times have reported Universitas Indonesia’s GreenMetric Rankings of World Universities in 2015, with UCC very high up on the list.

The rankings list over 400 universities on their “environmentally-friendly” infrastructure, in areas like; climate change, eco-friendly transport and education and waste management.

Mark Poland, director of buildings and estates said:

“We are pleased to retain such a high ranking in these metrics…

Our Green Campus Forum continues to work on all aspects of sustainability under our ‘Student-led, Research-informed and Practice-focused’ principles.”

Other Irish universities also fared well, with UL coming 16th, DCU in 58th, Maynooth University in 93rd and UCD placed 111th.

Good job, guys.
