EgyptAir flight MS804 went off radar at roughly 4am Thursday morning as it flew from Paris to Cairo.
There are 56 passengers on board including three children, as well as roughly 10 members of flight crew.
Reports are now emerging that the flight has crashed into the Mediterranean sea. A statement from the Civil Aviation Ministry says that the “possibility that the plane crashed has been confirmed”, according to the UK's Independent.
A search and rescue mission has now becoming, mounted by Greek and Egyptian authorities.
There have been no suggestions as yet as to what may have caused the crash.
