Ever wonder what an emergency landing is like?
Recently, Ethan Williams was en route to LA from Hong Kong when the Cathay Pacific jet he was travelling on ran into a wee bit o’ bother.
Flight 884 was on course before a broken cooling fan and a release of smoke forced the captain to land rapidly near the Aleutian Islands.
The contingency plan was to ditch the aircraft in the water.
Thankfully, that wasn’t necessary, but Williams captured the terrifying event on his phone and later spoke of the fearful atmosphere on board.
“We were getting told you had to take your shoes off and leave everything behind and what we needed to do and where our nearest exits were going to be and making sure we had our jackets on properly.”
