Hurricane Arthur down the east coast threw up a severe lightning storm in New York.
A massive lightning storm struck New York city last night, the result of the edges of Hurricane Arthur passing over the Big Apple.
Combined with a stunning sunset, it was a boon for photographers, who captured some amazing images of lightning striking 1 World Trade Centre.

The Empire State Building was also hit.
