Authorities in Australia have confirmed that the Sydney siege has come to an end after heavily armed police stormed the Lindt Café in the city’s Central Business District.
The police entered the building shortly after a number of hostages had fled the Lindt Café, where a gunman had held those hostages and several others for approximately 17 hours.
After police gained access to the building, a number of hostages were stretchered away shortly afterwards, while a bomb disposal robot entered the building and ambulance officials treated people at the scene.
