It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas alright…

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas alright…

To be fair to our capital city, Dublin scrubs up pretty well at Christmas time and every area does its bit in terms of lights and decorations to engender the Christmas spirit amongst those passing through.

No place does it quite like Grafton Street and the lights, the street performers and the hustle and bustle of people doing their Christmas shopping make it the most wonderful place to be in Dublin at the most wonderful time of the year.

The attractiveness of Grafton Street at this time of year has been captured brilliantly in a timelapse video by Gareth Byrne, which consists of 750 photographs taken over a 24 hour period taken from the boardroom of Hayden Brown Accountants’ offices, with the famous Bruxelles pub, the Phil Lynott statue and the Westbury Hotel all visible in the background.

If you’re still struggling to get into the Christmas spirit, this should be just the tonic; it certainly worked for us anyway.

Hat-tip to Gareth Byrne for allowing us to use the video on the site and to see more of his work,  you can follow him on Twitter or visit his website, garethbyrne.com.
