Beige trousers were a bad choice…
As those of you who have had to do it will know, public speaking can be a very daunting exercise and can cause people to react in different ways.
Some gain confidence and thrive in such an environment, whereas others become affected by nerves that can affect their body and their demeanour in ways which they might not expect.
Having been President of Colombia for the best part of the last four years, we would have assumed that Juan Manuel Santos would be used to addressing large crowds at this stage, but he experienced an unusual reaction when making a speech to launch his re-election campaign in the city of Barranquilla at the weekend.
Santos, who is not known to suffer from any medical condition, was about 20 seconds into his speech when an unmistakeable damp patch began to appear around his crotch, a patch that grew increasingly bigger throughout the duration of his three-minute address without him appearing to notice at any stage.
Either that was the case, or he did a very good job of hiding that he knew well what was going on.
Like we said, beige trousers were a bad choice.
