Video footage has emerged showing the moment a safari elephant turned on a tourist and flipped her car onto it’s roof.

A British woman and a South African man were injured when an enraged elephant flipped their VW Polo at the Kruger National Park in South Africa back on December 30 last year.

According to the Telegraph, William Mabasa, the general manager at Kruger National Park, said the elephant had shown aggressive behaviour before and has since been put down.

The British woman, named as Sarah Brooks, was admitted to hospital following the attack after one of the elephant’s tusks stabbed her in the leg.

The footage, which has only surfaced online today, has angered a lot of social media users who say the couple in the car should have known better.
