The flight was en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam when it was reportedly shot down near the Russia-Ukraine border.
Footage has emerged reportedly showing plumes of smoke from a Malaysia Airlines flight shot down over Ukraine, close to the border with Russia.
All 295 passengers on board are thought to have lost their lives.
Unconfirmed reports state that the Ukrainian interior ministry have revealed that the flight was shot down by a Buk ground-to-air missile, although the Ukrainian presidential press service is claiming that the country's armed forces are not to blame.
