Video: Galway kayakers show off huge balls of steel as they jump off 40ft bridge into the water below

We just kayaked our pants.

We just kayaked our pants.

Fancy gettin’ wet and wild and in Galway? Well, we’ve got just the thing for you. Sent into us by the excellently-named JOE reader Bradley Skidmore, the video below shows kayakers extraordinaire, Artur Staszek and Ronan Stapleton, taking the plunge as they’re ‘seal launched’ off the 40 foot Quincentennial bridge in Galway.

Bradley explains, “it’s an idea that spawned through lack of rivers with enough water on during the relatively dry Irish summer. We gathered up enough people at our boathouse, got all the cameras at the ready, and our friend Artur Staszek took the plunge with great success!! First person to ever be launched off the bridge meant the crew around us were anxious yet optimistic about how it would turn out.”

Fair play to all involved, we’re definitely up for havin’ a go the next time we visit Galway. *JOE runs off to inflate our trusty My Little Pony armbands*

Remember folks, don’t try this at home as this dangerous stunt was carried out by experienced professionals under the watchful eye of other kayakers. Now stop laughing at our armbands.
