If JOE lives until we’re 90, then this is how we want to celebrate…

Those lucky enough to be able to celebrate their 90th birthday normally do so in a fairly sedentary fashion, but former President of the United States George Bush is no normal 90-year old.

As he did to mark his 75th, 80th and 85th birthdays, Bush senior celebrated his 90th birthday by falling out of a helicopter in Kennebunkport, Maine, while attached to a retired member of the Army Golden Knights team and cruising towards the surface in some style.

After landing safely, Bush was helped into a wheelchair, to which he has been bound for the best part of the last year as he suffers from Parkinson’s Disease, and was applauded for his efforts by a number of onlookers present.

You can see the video of the jump in its entirety below (although you will have to put up with some annoying sounds in the background, but just in case there was any doubt that it was the man himself…

According to Mashable, yesterday was Bush senior’s eighth and probably last skydive as, two years ago, when he was 88, he went on record to say he had one more skydive in him.

We guess he waited until now because he knew the craic would be 90, wha?
