Video: Incredible footage as skydivers jump to safety after two planes collide midair

An amazing story of survival...

Eoghan Doherty

Midair collisions between two planes don’t happen that often and, when they do, it’s even less likely that all onboard manage to survive.

Thankfully though, that’s exactly what happened in a recent incident in Wisconsin, when two Cessna 182 planes, carrying a total of nine experienced skydivers and two pilots, spectacularly collided in midair, forcing all of the divers to immediately jump out.

These guys had dived more than Gareth Bale over the course of one season so that’s how you definitely know that they’re seasoned professionals.

While the divers floated back to earth, one of the planes burst into flame as its pilot made it out using his emergency parachute. The second plane, although damaged in the collision, was eventually able to land thanks to the skill of the pilot.

Check out the NBC news report below where anchor Brian Williams talks us through the amazing incident, all of which was captured by the multiple cameras worn by the veteran divers:

We’re big fans of skydiving here at JOE HQ, mainly thanks to Roberto, the seven foot Brazilian instructor-man we were strapped to but, after seeing this particular footage we may reconsider strapping on a chute again.

It’s a miracle that everyone survived this particular incident but we’re sure that a certain man-in-a-can would have been on hand to make sure everyone got to eventual safety anyway BECAUSE SUPERHEROES ARE REAL…
