Health Minister Leo Varadkar’s recent announcement to the public that he’s gay has garnered an impressive level of support in our own country, and it seems that the news has also travelled across the Atlantic.
As many of you know, the TV show Saturday Night Live is a comedy institution in the US, but this ‘gay in Ireland’ joke from the satirical news reporter Colin Jost isn’t exactly up there with Will Ferrell’s Cow Bell or Celebrity Jeopardy skits in the funny stakes.
To be fair, the joke isn’t very offensive nor is it laugh-out-loud hilarious.
