Video: Local musicians in Galway combine to create a fantastic and powerful anti-water charges protest song

The protest against the introduction of water charges in Ireland looks like it will be taken up a notch next week with the planned march on the Dáil by the Right2Water group next Wednesday.

Ahead of that date, those opposed to the charge have been attempting to drum up some momentum for the anti-water charges campaign, as was the case in Galway recently, or Campbell’s Tavern in Cloughanover in Headford to be more precise.

Campbell’s is renowned as a home for quality live music and recently, a group of local musicians gathered to perform ‘No Privatisation, Irish Water for Irish People,’ a song with traditional and rap influences that certainly manages to get its message across.

Even without it, it’s an incredibly catchy number and given the political situation surrounding the issue right now, we can see this little ditty becoming very, very popular in the coming weeks.
