Video: Man’s amazing near-miss as he walks right in front of oncoming train

It’s a miracle this barrier-jumping Aussie survived to get in trouble for his stupidity.
There’s a really good reason why level crossings are very well flagged with barriers, sirens and, yes, sometimes flags. It’s because in the battle of humans v trains, we are severely outgunned and the end result is almost always very, very bad for the human involved. All of which makes this guy very, very lucky indeed. Captured on CCTV at a station in Brisbane this fella hopped the barrier so he didn’t have to wait but then he apparently forgot to actually look to see if a train was coming. Which it was. By mere inches the man escaped being slammed by the train, as the multiple shots in this remarkable footage show.
