Politicians have been making gaffes on camera since television was invented, but New Zealand MP David Seymour came up with an absolute doozy this week.
Speaking about the proposed new New Zealand flag on TV earlier this week and the type of things that might be on it, Seymour mentioned other international flags around the world and let slip a rather unfortunate line about French people.
In fairness to Seymour, he realised the gaffe immediately and had a good laugh at himself before starting the interview all over again.
If he thought that a cock-up like that was going to be kept a secret, however, he had another thing coming.
