While delivering a press conference on the White House lawn earlier this week, President Obama was unexpectedly called into action as he had to step in and save a pregnant woman from fainting behind him.
Right, so that’s what Obamacare really means…
While delivering a speech on, of all things, his Obamacare statute, the President noticed that pregnant woman Karmel Allison had become unsteady on her feet and had begun to keel over. Obama quickly reacted, catching the lady by her shoulder and helped prop her up before a member of his staff came to their aid.
There was a brief (pregnant) pause before the President expertly quipped, “I got you. You’re OK… this happens when I talk too long.”
USA! USA! USA! *things explode everywhere. F14 jets do a flyby*
Thankfully, Allison recovered and later tweeted about the incident:
I’m ok world- just got a little lightheaded. Thanks, @BarackObama for catching me! And good thing this pregnant diabetic is pregnant 🙂

“I was saved by the President of the United States” – not a bad story to be able to tell your kid when they grow up.
IF THEY’RE NOT TOO BUSY FALLING OVER THAT IS.
Her husband David also got in on the act, sending out his own tweets on the matter:
I can assure you all that @karmel_a isn’t a plant, just a diabetes researcher with a keen interest in and admiration for the ACA 🙂

@aaronprill @karmel_a I almost bolted to the stage but thought twice about how that would look to the Secret Service. So glad she’s ok.

Yeah David, probably a good idea to not storm the stage where the President of the United States is standing.
