The lads at the Republic of Telly turned their attention to another of the great Irish traditions last night: the funeral
Yesterday was a day for considering everything that makes us Irish, and without a doubt, the one event that has a unique Irish twist is the Irish funeral.
The folks at Republic of Telly decided to put their own spin on it, and anyone who has had the misfortune of being to a funeral here will know all the characters, from the fella distraught over the loss of his mate who owes him €100 to the suspicious-enough-looking priest.
And if you enjoyed that particular sketch, then you’re sure to enjoy the works of one of our favourite new Twitter accounts, ‘Aul Lads at Funerals’. We’ve heard some of these things said word for word at the ones we’ve been to.
Sure she spent every penny he had on shite for the house. That's what killed him.
They nearly had to bury him in the box of the new fridge.
