Thankfully, nobody was hurt.
There were scary scenes in Tullamore on Monday morning as a car ploughed into a footpath on a busy street after it broke free from a tow truck travelling through the town.
Footage uploaded onto the HGV Dash Cam Footage Facebook page showed the car break away from the tow truck as the truck was rounding a bend at Hayes Cross in Tullamore.
The car immediately came to a halt after crashing into a council pole on the footpath, where, thankfully, there was nobody walking at the time, approximately 10.10am on Monday morning.
The Garda Press Office confirmed to JOE that no injuries occurred, there was only material damage and that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
