The Black Friday sales started early in the US yesterday and as you might expect, it got a little out of hand.
Because there’s not really anything like it over here, most of us have no first-hand experience of what Black Friday is like Stateside, but judging by a couple of videos that have arisen overnight, it appears as if it is a little bit reminiscent of Irish off-licenses on Holy Thursday every year.
Rather than sitting back and enjoying Thanksgiving, many Americans feel compelled to take advantage of the Black Friday sales, creating truly chaotic scenes, as was evident in a couple of Wal-Mart stores in the last 24 hours.
The US chain must have had amazing deals on televisions this year because both the video above and below seem to involve maniacal shoppers doing whatever it takes to get their hands on a few idiot boxes, particularly the guy in the video above in a Wal-Mart in Carolina, who was prepared to clear anyone in his path to make sure he got what he wanted.
Where the video below was recorded we’re not so sure, but the mere sight of it is enough to convince us to the vast majority of our Christmas shopping online this festive season.
