Video: Terrifying tornado hits workers’ camp in North Dakota; one guy finds it strangely hilarious

If we had to choose one person for company when a potentially life-threatening tornado raged in the skies overhead, it’s safe to say that this guy would be last on the list.

The town of Watford in North Dakota was hit with a truly terrifying tornado yesterday, with early reports suggesting that as many as nine people were injured and a number of properties damaged after it had done its worst.

A temporary workers’ camp, set up to house those employed in the oil industry which has proved profitable in the area of late, was one of the areas affected and was captured in a video by two men who saw what was coming and decided that they had little option but to get into a truck and get their asses out of there.

You’d imagine that the two lads in question must be used to this kind of weather phenomenon because none of them seemed particularly perturbed by the fact that their lives were in danger and one of them seemed to find the whole experience hilarious, laughing and roaring expressions such as ‘Gosh, dude’ repeatedly throughout.

The footage is understandably a bit shaky at times but at one stage, about two minutes in, the footage looks truly apocalyptic, with the tornado forming a perfect cylindrical shape with a large beaming light at the top, as if this was the work of God himself or some alien forces from above.

The account of the guy narrating the experience is far from Attenborough-like, but it’s entertaining enough all the same, even if, as we said above, he’s the last guy we’d like in our company in an emergency situation like that.

Yikes.
