A historic day.
Five months after the people of Ireland voted in favour of same-sex marriage, it was officially passed into law in the Seanad today.
The announcement was made in front of a relatively small audience earlier this afternoon, but when it was made, it was greeted with rapturous applause.
What a moment.

All that’s left to be done now is for the President to sign it into law and then October 22, 2015 will go down alongside May 23, 2015 as a momentous day in the history of this country.
Well played Ireland.
