We were glued to the telly last night We heard from a friend that the Philadelphia Rose was crowned the Rose of Tralee in, erm, Tralee last night. Maria Walsh, who was born in Boston but moved to Mayo at a young age, beat 31 other contestants at the Dome. She now lives in Philadelphia in case you were wondering why she represented the city.
Most of Maria’s family were able to make it along to Kerry for the big night but her brother Kevin wasn’t able to so he watched it on telly with some of his buddies.
Kevin posted this video on the Facebook page with the title ‘My sister is the Rose of Tralee’. He goes crazy but we get the impression his mates don’t really get it. It’s a pretty cool moment…
