VIDEO: This Cork Independent candidate’s Springsteen-esque General Election song has to be heard

Conor Heneghan

The Boss himself would be proud.

General election candidates have a number of various methods of getting their message out there to the public.

Some like the traditional door-stepping method; others like to do so through the media and others still prefer the power of music in an effort to mop up some much-needed votes.

Much like Michael Healy-Rae and Donegal Independent candidate Tim Jackson, Cork Independent Candidate Jerry O’Sullivan is attempting to persuade voters through song and we can safely say that his effort is like nothing we’ve heard before.

O’Sullivan’s campaign is based largely on maintaining the quality of the road network and counteracting the effects of flooding, two themes which are very prominent in a song that has more than a hint of Springsteen at his blue-collar best.

“Vote what’s best for Cork north-west and vote number one for O’Sullivan.”

Kind of catchy if you hear it enough times.

Cheers to Cathal Healy for sending this one our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102, [email protected] or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter.
