This is pretty terrifying stuff.
Everyone that travels abroad knows that they have to be on their guard, but few are unfortunate enough to be subjected to an attempted armed robbery and even fewer still capture that terrifying experience on camera.
Alexander Hennessy is a member of a group known as Global Degree, who are currently embarking on a mission to visit every country in the world in 60 months and are capturing their experiences on camera. While what happened to him in Buenos Aires recently won’t rank amongst his most pleasant experiences, he’s certainly not going to forget it in a hurry either.
Hennessy was cycling along a bike path in the Argentinean capital when a man on a motorbike first pulled up in front of him and then rode alongside him, pulled out a gun and demanded that he hand over his backpack.
Not able to understand what the gunman was saying, Hennessy fled the scene and eventually made it into the clear but not after a very hairy couple of minutes when his safety was very much in jeopardy.
It has since emerged that the footage was subsequently handed over to police and the man who confronted Hennessy was arrested on the same day.
Scary stuff.
