Video: Two Irish auld lads tricked into recreating the famous Garda prank phone call with hilarious results

The idea behind it might not be entirely original, but the result is still priceless.

Without a doubt, one of the funniest Irish things in the history of the Internet is the famous prank phone call involving two members of the Gardai in Mayo.

We’ve absolutely no doubt that you’ve seen it already, but in case you didn’t, both men thought that they were on the receiving end of a phone call from the other and their attempts to work out who actually made the call (including a theory about a meteorite hitting the line) was comedy gold.

Two Irish young lads decided to do it all over again by tricking two older Irish lads named Charlie and Mick into doing likewise and needless to say it worked like a treat.

Unfortunately, there were no suggestions about meteorites hitting the line this time around (the two lads eventually copped what was going on) but there are plenty of very Irish sayings like ‘Ha’, ‘Well’ and ‘any auld craic’ and a few swear words in a conversation that could easily take place between two auld fellas in any part of the country on any day of the week.

Classic.
