Video: Vicious fight breaks out on the streets of Newbridge

We’ve just been sent this footage of a pretty vicious looking fight that broke out in Newbridge recently and it involved a hit and run on a pedestrian.
We’re not too sure what this row was about, but judging by the video above it must have been something pretty serious. There are people screaming and shouting at each other on the main street of the Kildare town and then, out of nowhere, a large white van pulls up with a one fairly irritated driver. At the 0:55 mark the driver of the van floors it in the direction of the people standing at the corner of the pub and knocks one of them down to the ground in the process. The man gets up off the ground and is quickly engaged in a fight in the lane beside the pub. It seems like weapons were also involved as you can hear the video’s recorder saying, “He’s batin’ him with a stick and everything…” It’s a very serious incident and we can only assume the Gardaí are on the case.
