Imelda May, Paul Brady, Glen Hansard, Donal Lunny, Andy Irvine and the Gloaming were just a few of the stars who performed a brilliant rendition of ‘Auld Triangle’ last night in front of President Michael D. Higgins.
Yesterday, during his State visit over to the UK, President Michael D. was joined by Prince and Princess Michael of Kent for the Ceiliuradh in London’s Royal Albert Hall, which saw Irish artists and descendants of Irish emigrants performing songs, dance, music and poetry.
Speaking about the night, President Higgins said, “…on a night like this, it’s great to be Irish and its even better to share it in the company of our friends in Britain”.
The rendition of ‘Auld Triangle’ brought the Royal Albert Hall to its feet and it certainly looks like there was plenty of craic to be had on the night…
