Brave souls all around the country recently took the plunge in order to raise awareness for a wonderful cause – Special Olympics Ireland.

This video shows groups from Galway, Dublin and Cork rushing, wading and diving into ice-cold water to raise awareness for a nationwide Polar Plunge that will take place next month.

Most Polar Plunge events will take place on December 12 next month, with the exception of the Polar Plunge in Lapp’s Quay, Co. Cork which will be held on December 5.

Anyone interested in helping out Special Olympics Ireland by freezing their absolute balls off for an incredible cause can find out all the details here.

The registration fee is €15, and participants are asked to raise a further €35.
