Vincent Browne has a very big guest on his second last show on Wednesday night

He's calling in the big guns.

JOE

He’s going out with a bang.

As you will probably all know by now, Vincent Browne is leaving TV3 after over a decade on the show. His last show will be on 27 July but it’s his second last show that has got everybody talking.

The presenter of the Tonight programme will interview the newly-appointed Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, on tomorrow night’s (Wednesday) show.

Vincent will take this opportunity to ask the Taoiseach about his plans for his time in office and what he meant by vowing to represent ‘people who get up early in the morning’. Another topic of conversation is sure to be Brexit and the Taoiseach’s priorities for the period ahead including Northern Ireland, the budget and the Capital Plan.

It will be the first time that Browne has interviewed a Taoiseach since Brian Cowen back in 2010. That interview came shortly after the IMF bailout was announced and Browne did not mince his words with the then Taoiseach…

He might be heading towards the end of his tenure at the television show but it’s expected that Browne will pull no punches in the Varadkar interview either.
