Man arrested in Dublin murder investigation

A second arrest has been made in connection with the fatal assault of Vincent Parsons.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the fatal assault of Vincent Parsons in Dublin on Saturday 24 August.

34-year-old Parsons died as a result of head injuries sustained in an incident that took place in the Killinarden Estate in Tallaght.

Parsons was pronounced dead in hospital on Monday evening.

On Sunday morning (8 September), Gardaí arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the assault.

Currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, he is the second person to be arrested as part of the investigation.

A 24-year-old man, previously arrested on suspicion of murder, was released without charge on Thursday 29 August.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Gardaí have appealed to the public for information regarding the incident, wishing to speak to anyone in the vicinity of a public house in Killinarden on Saturday 24 August between 10pm and 11pm.
