There’s some welcome news on the weather front as the latest forecasts from Met Éireann say we’re in for a decent week ahead…

With the clocks having gone forward we can now enjoy the nice long stretch in the evenings and it couldn’t have come at a better time as we’re in for a decent week of weather too.

Today’s temperatures will stay around the 11 to 15 degrees Celsius mark, but the warm weather will also bring in some rain later this evening. According to Met Éireann: “… heavier rain will move into the south coast later this afternoon. This rain will spread northwards during the rest of the day with some heavy and thundery falls.”

However, that rain should clear by tonight to give “a largely dry night”. Tuesday will start off dry with some sunny spells developing after any mist lifts, while Wednesday will see some scattered outbreaks of rain in certain parts of the country.

Temperatures for the week remain in the low to mid-teens with Thursday seeing highs of 12 to 16 degrees. While the week looks to be turning into a nice warm start to April, the weekend will once again see some mixed weather thanks to south-westerly winds that are likely to bring some rain from the Atlantic.

At least we can look forward to the nice warm week ahead.
