It’s easy to be cynical about The Late Late Toy Show, but for many the once-a-year special represents everything that’s wonderful about Christmas.
Daniel Brogan, a nine-year-old hurler from Galway, had his dream come true last night when Ryan Tubridy surprised him by bring out several of his heroes from this year’s All-Ireland Championship winning Galway hurling team.
They weren’t alone either. Captain David Burke brought the Liam McCarthy cup with him. Young Daniel was presenter with a signed hurley and sliotar, as well as a picture book and team photo — but best of all, he’ll be getting to train with the Galway seniors in January.
