WATCH: Eileen Magnier almost has her hair blown off while reporting in Bundoran

Storm Gareth

This wind would take the skin off your nose.

Irish weather reporters are no stranger to tough conditions. Indeed, Theresa Mannion’s report from Galway in late 2015 is one of the most infamous moments in recent Irish broadcasting history.

But at least she had a hat.

Today, RTÉ’s Eileen Magnier was reporting back to the studio during the Six-One News during Storm Gareth, and to say we feel sorry for her doesn’t do the scene justice.

Magnier was reporting from the coast of Bundoran, where the storm is hitting worst.

As you can see from the video below, her hair is practically being blown off her head. Fair play to her for getting through the entire segment without dropping her mic and putting both hands on her head.

Donegal is in the midst of a Status Orange weather warning, along with Galway, Sligo, Mayo and Leitrim. The rest of the country is Status Yellow.
