The arsonist set a fire under fuel pump hoses.
Gardaí are seeking the public’s help with their investigation into a foiled arson attempt that occurred at a petrol station in Blarney, Co Cork.
The incident occurred on 6 January at approximately 7am and Gardaí attended the scene to extinguish the flames.
As you can see in the footage below, the arsonist set a fire under fuel pump hoses on the station forecourt.
The Gardaí have since released a statement which reads: “A small fire was started in the forecourt of a petrol station and Gardaí used a fire extinguisher from the Garda patrol car to put it out. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.”
Speaking at Gurranabraher Garda Station today, Superintendent Colm O Sullivan has said that: “Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area from 6am and may have seen a person cycling a bike wearing a yellow hi-vis jacket and white clothing, to contact Gurranabraher Garda Station on 021-4946200.”
