It finally happened.
Well, I guess that's the punchline sorted.
A young horse escaped from her racing stable in the French town of Chantilly and ran for the nearest bar, where customers scampered for safety as she crashed through the premises.
Thankfully, there were no long faces to report as the seven patrons were uninjured, as was the horse.
The incident occurred at 1o am and the
bar is located about 1 km from the horse's stables near Chantilly train station.
The filly's trainer, Jean-Marie Béguigné, told
Ouest France that: “Between the track and the stables, her rider fell off. The filly escaped by going on to the road, and crossing a roundabout before entering this bar. It is all quite exceptional.”
Nobody was hurt, and even the horse “showed no trauma or anxiety”, said Mr Beguigne.
As you can see in the footage below, the horse pranced through the premises as it kicked her hind legs in the air.
