The AA confirmed that the driver was not seriously injured but stressed again the importance of being vigilant on the roads.
Last week, Gardaí ran the annual national ‘slow down’ day which took place on Friday, May 27.
The aim of the “slow down” day was to remind drivers of the dangers of speeding, increase compliance with speed limits and act as a deterrent to driving at excessive or inappropriate speed.
The operation consisted of high visibility speed enforcement in speed enforcement zones, which now number over 1000, as well as a delivery of a road safety message through the use of national, local and social media.
