The weather forecast for next week looks pretty good

The weather in Ireland has been brilliant over the last few weeks considering the time of year, it’s been mostly dry and mild with the odd wet day scattered in there.

Although it is pretty nippy out there today.

The people at Met Eireann have published their outlook for the week ahead and it looks pretty good.

Here’s a rundown from Monday to Friday, hopefully they’re right.

Monday

It will be a wet and windy day with widespread persistent or heavy rain and strong, gusty south to southeast winds, reaching gale force in some coastal areas. Clearer conditions and lighter southwesterly winds will develop along western coastal counties towards evening. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.

Monday night will become cold with frost in places and some fog patches. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +2 degrees.

Tuesday

It will be a cool, bright day with sunny spells. There’ll be some scattered showers over the western half of the country. It will be largely dry further east. Highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees with mostly light westerly breezes. A sharp frost will develop on Tuesday night.

Wednesday

It will be largely dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees with light southerly breezes, which will freshen later. On Wednesday night, frost will be confined to the east of the country.

Thursday

It will be cold, breezy and mostly cloudy with some rain possible in Munster a few showers elsewhere. The best of any sunny spells will be over the northern half of the country. Highest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees with moderate to fresh south to southeast winds. Frost will develop on Thursday night.

Friday

It will be very cold as an easterly airflow become established over Ireland. Daytime temperatures will range from 3 to 6 degrees. Sharp or severe frost will develop at night. It will be mainly dry with sunny spells. However, showers will develop at times along east and south coasts, some possibly wintry.
