Not a perfect forecast, but not bad at all.

Temperatures are set to hit 23 degrees in what is set to be a pretty decent week on the weather front, according to the latest forecast from Met Éireann.

The national forecaster has said there will be “a lot of dry weather overall” in a week that will start off humid, begin to turn fresher by the middle of the week and will also feature the inevitable arrival of rain showers at various points.

Monday will generally be a dull and breezy day across the country. Atlantic coastal counties will be most affected by intermittent rain and drizzle throughout the day, with temperatures reaching highs of 22 degrees in the south and southeast.

Tuesday is set to be the warmest day of the week, with the mercury set to hit 23 degrees. Again, Atlantic coastal counties will bear the brunt of whatever rain falls throughout the day but it will be largely dry elsewhere.

It will also feel pretty humid, so you might need to be prepared for some tossing and turning to get comfortable in bed at night.

Temperatures will drop on Wednesday with highs of 15-18 degrees, but dry conditions will persist.

It’s a similar story on Thursday and while it will be wet on Friday, particularly in Connacht and Ulster, “a lot of dry weather with mild spells of sunshine and southerly breezes” is expected on what should be a decent weekend next weekend.

Fingers crossed.
