Bad news from our good friends in Met Eireann this morning; winter is finally getting serious.

After a few weeks of very mild weather, winter will bare its teeth from today as temperatures drop over the course of the day. The cold snap will continue overnight, with frost and single figure temperatures for much of Tuesday. This drop will mean the possibility of some wintry showers of sleet or snow in places like Cavan and Monaghan, while the east will remain dry, but cold and frosty. It will freeze again on Tuesday night before picking up a little during Wednesday afternoon. However, showers will spread over the country on Wednesday afternoon before another cold and frosty night on Wednesday. Right, where are those gloves…
