Two new weather warnings issued for a number of counties

It’s going to be a wet one out there.

A Status Yellow weather warning was issued for four counties on Friday morning.

Since then, two updated weather warnings have been issued by Met Éireann for a further three counties, as well as the four that were included in the initial warning.

In total, Wexford, Cork, Waterford, Galway, Kerry, Limerick and Clare are the counties affected.

Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick have been issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning, while Wexford, Cork, Kerry and Waterford have been issued a Status Yellow wind warning.

The rainfall warning will be in place from noon on Friday until midnight on Saturday, while the wind warning is expected to be place from 11pm on Friday until 6am on Saturday morning.

The highest amounts of rain will be in Kerry, especially in mountainous areas, while coastal and mountainous areas of Kerry and Cork are expected to be hit by the worst winds.

Met Éireann has also said that gale force winds are expected widely with some severe gusts in the south and southwest, as well as the risk of flooding.

Meanwhile a Status Orange marine warning has also been issued, with all Irish coastal waters and the Irish Sea expected to be hit by strong gales.
