A weather warning is in place for these six counties on Sunday

Be careful.

Met Eireann has issued a yellow status wind warning for six counties on Sunday morning.

The counties affected are Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare. The warning comes into effect at approximately 4pm and runs through the night into Monday morning.

Met Éireann state: “On Sunday evening and night, west to southwest winds veering west to northwest will reach speeds of 55 to 65 km/hr with gusts of 80 to 90 km/hr in coastal areas of the West and North.”

The outlook for the rest of the week is mixed with scattered showers forecast for Monday, while the rest of the week will be mainly dry with more scattered showers.
