This is how the weather is looking for the first Autumn weekend

Hello, Autumn.

JOE

weekend weather

Sure it can’t be sunny all of the time, we suppose.

According to Met Eireann, we have a weekend of scattered showers and spells of sunshine in store as the first weekend of Autumn begins.

Friday will start the weekend off with this mixed bag of weather and as the afternoon comes along, the showers will become more frequent with some parts of the country likely to get heavy bursts of rain.

Temperatures will be between 16 to 19 degrees.

Friday night will see those temperatures drop down as far as 10 degrees but in saying that, it will be a dry night with clear spells.

Saturday is set to be another dry day but the chance of scattered showers occurring is very likely also with temperatures set to be between 15 and 18 degrees.

The night time will see a much cooler atmosphere with the temperature gauge hitting the 7 degrees mark with a risk of rain developing in western areas by dawn.

Sunday morning is forecast to be dry in the east and southeast with sunny spells. Otherwise, it will be cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and there is a danger that this rain could be heavy and persistent in the west of the country.

The rain is expected to clear eastwards Sunday night and the winds will veer westerly and ease.

No barbeques at the ready this weekend so.
