Here’s what the weather is going to be like this weekend

Not perfect but not bad either.

This week’s weather report has been just the ticket after experiencing what seems like the longest winter of all time.

Two storms and six months later, it seems that the frost has finally given way to some sunshine, and it’s not over yet.

This week has given us the two hottest days of 2018 so far, and while this weekend won’t be giving those two a run for their money, the African air plume is still set to provide us with nicer weather than what we’ve currently been used to.

According to Met Éireann, Friday night will be dry and cold with long clear intervals in many areas.

“In slack winds, patches of mist and fog will develop, especially in coastal counties of the south and southeast. Minimum temperatures 1 to 4 Celsius, with a touch of grass frost possible in places,” the forecast reads.

But Saturday’s forecast is set to bring higher temperatures back into our lives with sunny spells and temperatures of up to 18 degrees.

“Saturday will be dry in most areas, with mist and fog clearing during the morning, though possibly lingering on parts of the east and south coasts during the day.

“Most areas will have good sunny spells, but cloud will increase from the Atlantic, bringing outbreaks of rain to western coasts of Connacht in the afternoon, extending slowly inland across Atlantic coastal counties during the evening.

“Maximum temperatures will range from 11 to 13 degrees in Atlantic coastal areas, 15 to 18 Celsius elsewhere. Winds mostly light southerly, freshening along Atlantic coasts.”

“Sunny spells and some light rain, with heavier rain set for the west coast. Coastal areas will be a little cooler than temperatures recorded inland due to sea breeze, but all in all, a nice day is to be expected.”

Sunday is set to be quite cool and fresh, with a mix of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers; most of the showers in the west and north. Temperatures are set to hit highs of between 11 and 14 degrees, with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds expected.

We’ll take it.
