We’re going to have some of the most uncomfortable types of weather this week

Sun, sun… rain.

While we’ve been gifted with some glorious weather of over the last few months in Ireland, it looks like this week will be more of what we’re used to… sticky, uncomfortable, wet weather.

Met Éireann have said that we can expect to see rain in many areas throughout the week, although they’ve said that falls will be below average for this time of year.

Meanwhile temperatures will stay above average meaning we’re going to get that sticky combination of weather which has you sweating underneath that light summer jacket you have to wear to avoid getting soaked by a passing shower.

Monday will remain rather warm, humid and overall quite cloudy in many areas with patchy light rain or drizzle continuing to sink southeastwards, a few heavier bursts still possible later today. The west and northwest will see some brighter, fresher conditions in the afternoon.

Temperatures will range from 18-25 degrees.

Tuesday will bring a mix of cloud and sunny spells, with some westerly breezes. It will remain largely dry but there will be some scattered showers throughout the day.

There’s some uncertainty regarding Wednesday, but rain is expected to move up across the country, particularly affecting Atlantic counties and it will be warm and humid with temperatures between 18 and 23 degrees.

Thursday will begin breezy with some outbreaks of rain but will dry up in the afternoon with temperatures between 18-21 degrees in western areas and 21-24 degrees elsewhere.

As we head towards Friday, it will be mostly dry with good sunshine during the morning, but there will be a few well scattered showers in the afternoon while the weekend will see temperatures fall back to around normal for this time of year.

But some wet and windy weather may be on the way for later in the weekend.
