This week’s weather will be unfortunately described as “hot and wet”

It'll be very "close".

This week is going to the ultimate test of “What jacket do I wear??”

Pick the wrong one and you’ll be sweating, but at least you’ll be dry. On the other hand, you could go with something that’ll keep the pits aired, at least until the rain seeps in.

Following last week’s record-breaking heat-wave (Donegal enjoyed their hottest temperatures ever since records began in 1885), which was promptly followed by enough rain to cause flash-flooding around Dublin, this coming week looks to fall between the two stools known as Hot and Wet.

According to our favourite meteorological predictors at Met Éireann, Monday will kick off with scattered showers before we get long sunny spells as the temperatures are expected to return to around 20 degrees.

Unfortunately, that is pretty much what you can expect from the rest of the week, too.

At least as far as Thursday night, when on Friday morning the early indicators show the temperature dropping a bit, which will see us getting some respite from this lung-dampening humidity.

You should probably still keep your ponchos handy if you’re heading along to Forbidden Fruit, though.
