A man has been arrested following the robbery and assault of an elderly woman in Dublin.
The incident occurred between 2am and 3.45am on Ranelagh Road in Dublin 6 on 1 September.
The Irish Independent reports that the 86-year-old woman was pushed into a wheelie bin before being robbed of a small sum of money.
Gardaí have said that the woman's injuries are non-life threatening.
A man in his 20s was arrested in relation to this incident on Tuesday morning (13 September).
The suspect is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Irishtown Garda station.
Gardaí are appealing to any motorists, taxi drivers or delivery drivers who were in the area who may have witnessed the incident or who have dash cam footage to contact them.
