Be careful out there.

Gardaí have warned drivers to be safe while driving on Tuesday as snowy weather may have an affect on driving conditions.

In a message posted on their official Twitter account, Gardaí attached a picture of the roads from Sally Gap Cross towards Glencree in Wicklow, which shows snow accumulating on the roads.

They also stated that warning signs are now being placed on all approach roads to the Sally Gap, and again encouraged people to be safe on the roads.

There has been snow reported all across the country on Tuesday morning, with Wicklow being just one of the places affected.

This comes hours after Met Éireann announced that a nationwide weather warning would be in place until Saturday at 12pm.

The warning states that it will be very cold this week, with scattered wintry showers, which will be frequent across the southwest, west and north.
