Put your social plans on ice.

Outdoor ice skating may be something that you normally associate with Northern European winter festivals or Canadian hockey players but Dublin is about to get its very own 1km square ice rink. That’s a lot of ice.

Winter Funderland is bringing the largest indoor Christmas theme park in Europe to town until 14 January in the RDS. The traditional Funderland experience will be getting a festive makeover with the addition of a Christmas market and an enormous ice rink that will cater for novice and experienced ice skaters of all ages.

This is your chance to finally act out all those moves you remember from Blades of Glory. You may want to skip the Iron Lotus and you can probably give the skintight lycra a miss but it’s a great chance to get on the ice and throw some shapes.

The RDS will be transformed into a Winter wonderland with wooden chalets, stalls selling a range of unique wares and a whole host of speciality foods to choose from. Once you’ve soaked up the festive atmosphere, there’ll be some adrenaline pumping rides to enjoy. Funderland has sourced the ultimate thrill rides from across Europe, including the all-new Exciter and favourites like the Take-Off, Frisbee, Zero Gravity, The Extreme, The Speed Loop Roller Coaster and many more.

The iSkate-on-Ice rink is also a great day out for families, with balancing aids and double-bladed skis available for kids aged three and upwards. Younger ones can also enjoy the other family-friendly attractions on the two and a half acres site, like Bounce World, Dizzy Drivers, Helicopters, Euro Rallye, Fun Factory, The Wild West, Chair-O-Planes, Toy Town and more. All that, plus plenty of other attractions to suit all ages, will certainly make this a Christmas experience to remember.

Funderland provides an ideal day out, with fantastic family attractions for young and old. Funderland offers great value with the option of P.O.P (Pay-One-Price) wristbands for unlimited rides (subject to height) or the traditional Pay-Per-Ride option.

Even better value is available when you book your Funderland P.O.P. Wristbands and iSkate-On-Ice tickets online. There are also gift vouchers available on their website which make a perfect Christmas gift for a loved one.
