Woman arrested in connection with murder of two-year-old infant in Cork

A 35-year-old female was arrested on Wednesday morning.

An Garda Síochána have confirmed that a 35-year-old female has been arrested in connection with the murder of a two-year-old infant girl last month.

The woman was arrested on Wednesday morning in connection with an incident that took place in the early hours of Friday, 5 July.

Last month, a female in her 30s was arrested after Gardaí commenced a murder examination following a post-mortem examination completed by Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Margot Bolster.

The results of the post-mortem have not been disclosed for operational reasons.

The woman arrested by Gardaí is expected to appear before Cork District Court at Anglesea Street in Cork at 10.30am on Wednesday morning.
